Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely known for starting modern scientific studies of eyewitness accounts from children's memories as well as the role of children victims in court settings. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with numerous publications and many awards to her credit, is also the recipient of a variety of international and national prizes. She has worked with various government agencies and governments across the globe on policy and research concerning children who are victims of the justice system. She currently serves as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of several professional associations, such as those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been director of three divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
